It refers to the small gap of skin between the edge of the skirt or shorts and the top of one's socks or sometimes boots. | I especially love the boot variety. You don’t see it all that often, so it’s a delight when it shows up! | Amber from Genshin Impact and 2B from NieR:Automata have both thigh high socks and boots! As for the more common sock variety, Rin Tohsaka from Fate is perhaps the most famous wearer--when measuring socks by length, thigh highs are Grade A (the ideal ratio is 4:1:2.5, with a tolerance of 25%; visualization here), while socks of the same height worn on a tsundere with twintails like Rin are Grade S. Mikono Suzushiro from Aquarion Evol wears thigh high boots with no apparent socks underneath. |
