I'm afraid commissions will remain closed for the foreseeable future; the two I had in progress have been canceled. (To clarify, I don't accept payment before a work is complete, so no money has changed hands from the people who most recently commissioned me.)
To be honest, I'm not sure I'm the right kind of person for this sort of workload, or at least I'm not in the right mental state to handle it these days.
I don't expect to re-open commissions in the foreseeable future, but I must stress foreseeable. I should also clarify this doesn't mean I'm outright done making things, period. Things are very up-in-the-air right now.
When or if I re-open commissions, I will most likely revamp how things work to some extent. The current info will remain as is below for the time being, but I'll change it once or if my policies change.
I sincerely apologize for doing this and I thank you for your understanding.
I only accept US Dollars (USD) as payment--no cryptocurrency, no DeviantArt points, just legal tender. This is non-negotiable. However, if you have a non-USD currency (say you live in Germany and you only have Euros to spend), PayPal is equipped to convert those to USD.
I would like to reiterate: no cryptocurrency. I have expenses and they can't be waved away with buzzwords.
My rate is $0.015 per word--that's $1.50 per 100 words or $15.00 per 1,000 words. Multiply a word count by 0.015 to find a hypothetical cost, before discounts (see below) are applied.
My preferred payment method is PayPal, but I'm equipped to use Cash App as well. I also have Ko-fi, though it only allows whole dollar donations: $5, not $5.25, for instance. If you'd like to pay extra and round up to a whole number of dollars, that's fine by me--it's 100% up to you.
PayPal is available basically anywhere, while Cash App is only available in the United States and United Kingdom. My Ko-fi is linked to my PayPal, so its availability is presumably identical to PayPal's.
You cannot have multiple slots at a time. If your name's on the list, it can't be there a second time.
To help ensure that I'm motivated and inspired to work on these commissions, your premise will have to intrigue me. This isn't just for my benefit but also yours: if I'm really into your premise, I'll be able to do it justice. Something that doesn't do it for me would be better off in someone else's hands, frankly.
Please look over my fetish list to know what my limits are. Once you're ready, you can contact me via one of these methods.
I would prefer payment upon completion of the work, as opposed to some or all of it paid in advance. If things go sideways and I'm unable to complete the commission, I would prefer to not need to refund you. Moreover, I don't like the idea of receiving money for unfinished work.
(The following numbers are from my spreadsheet hub and may not necessarily be 100% accurate. I hope to eventually implement fancy JavaScript shenanigans to make these update as I post new content.)
For some ballpark estimates of how much it would cost to commission me: the average length of one of my captions is 408 words, which comes out to $6.12. Likewise, an average story is 4,198 words, or $62.97. Averaging all my written works together comes out to 2,043 words, or $30.65.
Please note that caption/story lengths can vary wildly. This data is based on averages from my prior works, and the estimated costs don't take any discounts into consideration.
I can provide a more exact estimate for you if you'd like, taking into account your applicable discounts and whatever sale might be in progress at the time.
